HOW TO USE
Polyurethane on Wood & metal
All surfaces must be clean and free from loose or peeling paint, grease, oil, dirt, rust and other contaminants. If procedure is not observed, the drying and adhesion of any coating will be adversely affected.
STEP 1 -SURFACE PREPARATION

PREPPING SURFACES
Remove any old paint from the wood as necessary. If the wood you want to paint has paint already on it, you may have to remove it before adding a new coat.

SANDING SURFACES
Sand the surface of the wood with coarse sandpaper and finish off with fine sandpaper. Start by sanding down the area where you’ve used putty or filler before moving to the rest of the surface for an even feel.

CLEANING SURFACES
Clean off any dust or wood residue with a tack cloth. If you have a vacuum, vacuum off the wood thoroughly, followed by a sweep with a tack cloth.
STEP 2 -APPLY FIRST COAT

Stir thoroughly to a uniform consistency before use. Never shake, it will cause bubbles in the dried finish.

Ready to apply the first coat, if necessary, you may dilute with not more than 5% of water. Recomended to apply with a brush, working in the direction of the grain of the wood.

Allow 24 hours to air-dry the polyurethane
STEP 3 -APPLY SECOND COAT

Recoating after 24 hours. Once the first coat has dried, sand the wood again. Then add a second in the same manner. Wait another 24 hours to dry. If you used a brush, two coats is fine. For any areas where a cloth or spray was used, repeat twice for a total of four coats.

Clean equipment immediately after use with clean water and rinse thoroughly. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses. Replace lid firmly.
